Our last name of DeVries, written as de Vries in Holland, doubles as our logo. It’s design comes from the actual handwritten signature of my gr-gr-gr-grandfather Johannes de Vries who immigrated to America from the Netherlands in 1892, four months after Ellis Island opened. His signature is found on the 1873 birth registration of his eldest child.
