Abigail & Andrew | Riverview Manor
There are so many reasons why we are particularly excited about finally sharing Abigail & Andrew's wedding on the blog today! First of all, Abigail is my (Micah's) younger sister, so this wedding obviously has a special place in my heart! In addition, Abigail & Andrew chose to get married at the beautiful Riverview Manor, which is where Josh and I tied the knot almost five years ago! It was pretty awesome to be able to work alongside some of the same amazing vendors who helped make our own wedding day so special. Lastly, we had such a blast filming a wedding in which many of the people who attended were our own family members! (Even if it was a bit weird editing ourselves and our own kiddos in the film!)
When Abigail & Andrew first asked us to film their wedding over a year ago, we went back and forth as to whether or not Josh should film the wedding with a hired second shooter, or if I should try to wear multiple hats that day and assist in the filming. In the end, and with Abigail & Andrew's permission, I decided to film the wedding with Josh, with the exception of the ceremony and toasts. (Those are two hats you just can't wear at the same time!) I came to this decision because I knew it would be hard for me to watch someone else film my sister's wedding, and I wanted to be able to be a part of creating this gift for my wonderful sister and brother-in-law. I won't lie to you -- being a matron of honor in a wedding and filming said wedding can be a little tricky, especially when your 2 year old is the flower girl in the wedding and your one year old is still attached at the hip. :) (Thank goodness for my in-laws, who also attended the wedding and are excellent babysitters!) But being able to film this wedding was so important to me, and I'm so glad we made it work! It truly was an honor to stand beside my lovely sister on the most important day of her life, while simultaneously capturing moments that she and Andrew will hold dear for the rest of their lives. I've also got to make sure Josh gets major props here, because he managed to film the ceremony and toasts almost entirely by himself on one of the hottest days of the year. Yeah, he's pretty awesome. ;)
Finally, enjoy these fun little behind the scenes photos from the big day, thanks to Jane Bradley Photography!
